Taylor Widener is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Aiken, SC who attends South Aiken HS. Nice athletic build, good present strength, lots of projection left. Fast paced delivery, stays balanced well, on line, long loose arm action, 3/4's arm slot, could throw downhill better. Fastball to 91 mph, mostly straight, more velocity in there. Slider has good spin and diagonal break, shows feel for change up. Three solid pitches and throws strikes. Fields position well and shows his athleticism. Potential two-way prospect, aggressive swing from wide stance, good loose extension, shows very good bat speed, solid pull contact. Has steadily improved over the last two years, could have more to come. Good student, verbal commitment to South Carolina.
