Ryan Gebhart is a 2008 OF with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from McGregor TX, who attends Midway. Named to Top Prospect Team. Gebhart has a good frame with present strength. He has a nice projectable body with an athletic build. Defensively, Gebhart throws with a long arm action from the outfield with arm strength. He has carry on his throws and has good defensive actions to the ball in the outfield. At the plate, Gebhart is a switch hitter who has legit switch hitting tools. From the left side, Gebhart has a wide stance and starts open. He is short to ball and generates bat speed from a nice quiet approach. From the right side, Gebhart starts with a relaxed approach and uses a simple load to start his swing. He has a simple easy swing and really attacks the ball in the strike zone. He has present bat speed and has leverage at contact. Gebhart has good tools and should be followed closely as he develops.

Gebhart is a 6-0, 160 lb switch hitting outfielder from Texas with a projectable body and good present strength for a sophomore. He ran the 60 in 7.36 but showed his quickness by getting down to first base in 4.38 from the left side. Gebhart also participated in infield drills but his actions and arm strength look better suited for the outfield. Gebhart just recently started switch hitting, so he's a work in progress. From the right side Gebhart is a very promising hitting prospect. He has a very nice load and rhythm to the ball with plus bat speed for his age and a sound, level swing. He projects power down the road as he fills out his young frame. From the left side Gebhart shows good bat head skills and keeps his swing short to make contact but doesn't show the same type of bat speed or rhythm that he does from the right side. Overall, Gebhart looks like a very nice outfield prospect who should keep developing for years to come. Very good follow. Named to the Top Prospect Game.
