2004 Underclass National Showcase
Ruben Noriega -- Noriega is a lean bodied junior outfielder from California. He has a slashing opposite field stroke from the right side of the plate and gets the bat head into the zone quickly. He’s aggressive early in the count and has the bat speed to get the ball up the gaps. Noriega didn’t run the 60 but looked like he has very good speed during games. He took the mound for 2 innings and threw 76-78 mph with his fastball, about the same type of arm strength he showed from the outfield. Noriega is a very good student and an excellent all around player.
