Michael Rivera is a 2014 C/3B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Venice, FL who attends Venice HS. Short compact build, very good present strength. Flexible athletic actions behind the plate, good low set up, has side to side agility and foot quickness, good blocker, solid arm strength, very good accuracy with a compact, repeatable release, 1.91 best pop time, throws runners out. Right handed hitter, limited shift, busy hand load, quick hands with good upper body strength, fluid and loose out front, squares the ball up, could add even more power with better lower half use. Very balanced tool set and advanced skill level, plays hard and performs. Good student, verbal commitment to Florida.
