Cody Crouse is a 2013 RHP/OF with a 6-5 175 lb. frame from Valrico, FL who attends Bloomingdale HS. Tall slender slope shouldered build, very projectable. Balanced delivery, stays back well, long laid back extended arm action, shows ball, extended high 3/4's release point, arm works well, more velocity in there. Steady mid 80's fastball, topped at 87 mph, still 86 in the 3rd, fastball mostly straight with occasional glove side cut. soft hand position curveball, some 11/5 shape. Good arm speed on change up with some fading action. Has slider potential given cut on fastball. Pitches to spots and mixes it up, good idea how to pitch. No doubt he will keep getting better with more strength and experience. Good student.
