Austin Irwin is a 2013 RHP/C, 2B with a 6-0 178 lb. frame from Escondido, CA who attends Orange Glen. Irwin has a medium sized frame with a good lean build. He pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He has some arm speed and good explosion in his delivery. Irwin there is more velocity in there with a couple of lower half adjustments. He throws an 11/5 curveball with good depth and shape to it. Irwin gets some run on his fastball and threw both pitches for strikes. Defensively, Irwin showed some catch and throw tools from behind the plate with a quick arm and carry on his throws. At the plate, he starts with a wide slightly open stance and uses a foot lift trigger. He looks to pull and showed bat speed. Good student.
