2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Richie Hofmeister is a 2005 first baseman/outfielder from Geneva, Illinois, with a projectable 6'2", 205 lb. frame. He showed nice footwork and hands around the first base bag. Offensively he hits with a high back elbow, and shows some bat speed. Hofmeister shows some power potential to the pull side using his good leverage. He does use the middle of the field, just not with as much power. He collected 3 hits over the two showcase games. Hofmeister is a big and strong left hander with some serious power potential. Richie is a good student.
