Matthew Vogel is a 2013 RHP/MIF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Medford, NY who attends Patchogue Medford HS. Lean slope shouldered build, athletic build, projects well physically. Two-way prospect. Slow tempo delivery, over the top release point, works downhill, tends to fall off at release, quick arm. Fastball to 90 mph, mostly straight, hard curveball spin at 74 mph, good depth and bite, developing change up. Easy actions in the middle infield, 7.14 runner, arm strength plays very well defensively, strong on line throws, good quick exchange. Right handed hitter, big leg raise trigger, line drive swing plane, swings hard, tends to pull off front side, shows bat speed. Good student, verbal commitment to South Carolina.

Matthew Vogel is a 2013 RHP/SS with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Medford, NY who attends Patchogue Medford HS. Very athletic build, strong lower half, lots of room to get stronger. Slow paced full back turn delivery, deep arm circle, tight high 3/4's release, lands closed, throws downhill, loose and fast arm. Easy fastball velocity, steady 89-91 mph, mostly straight. Nice hard curveball spin, gets over it consistently, good depth. True slider shows tilt and depth at times, tends to get on side of it, rare change up. Excellent pitching prospect who projects. 7.27 runner, compact arm with very good carry, soft hands, has some hip stiffness. Right handed hitter, reverse hitch to start hands, moves into contact, compact line drive swing, hits to all fields.
