Jason Chitwood is a 2012 RHP/1B, 3B with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Orange Park, FL who attends Fleming Island HS. Solid athletic build, good present strength. Multi-piece delivery, 3/4's arm slot, good pace to his delivery and works quickly, repeats mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, good running action. Curveball lacks power but has big shape and some bite, has confidence in it, occasional change up. Throws strikes with all pitches and challenges hitters, fields his position well. Quick swing with some pop, explodes hands to the ball, limited lower 1/2 use costs him some power/bat speed, some uppercut plane for lift, squares it up well. Good all around athlete who knows how to play.
