2003 Western Underclass Showcase
Tanos was one of the most polished hitters at the Showcase. He has an erect stance with a high bat and a very calm, smooth approach to the ball. He has the ability to jump on inside fastballs with wood and drive the ball in the air, which we don’t see that often in game competition from 16 year olds. Tanos also showed the ability to stay back and hit the ball the other way, so he just wasn’t sitting dead red on every pitch. He’s just a solid hitter with lots of potential. Where Tanos ends up on defense we’re not sure. He has plenty of arm strength and soft enough hands to play in the infield but he ran a 7.96. With some hard work on agility, he should be solid at third base, which would just make his bat that much more valuable. He does have good mid infield actions and could end up at 2B at the next level.
