Nick Aurelio is a 2006 middle infielder/third baseman from Bellarmine Prep in San Jose, California, with a 5'9", 165 lb. frame. Defensively Aurelio shows good footwork with good body control on slow rollers. He threw 69 mph across the infield with good accuracy and projects as a second baseman at the next level. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a closed stance with a small stride. He holds his hands close to his body with a lower hand set pre-pitch. Aurelio has good bat speed with a line drive swing plane and hit the ball hard in the showcase games, especially on Sunday. He brings his front leg back as a trigger and stays balanced throughout his swing. Aurelio is also a very good student.
