Nick Bryant is a 2008 1B/3B/P with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Bonanza. He has a broad shouldered build with very good present strength. Bryant hits from a straight stance with some knee flex and a big, long upper cut swing that is looking to lift and pull the ball. Bryant has some fluidity and bat speed but tended to get the bat started late and didn't make adjustments to different types of pitches in games. He can hit mistakes in his zone hard, though. Bryant's speed (8.14 in the 60) limits him to first base but he showed good actions and soft hands around the bag and is solid defensively. Bryan also took a turn on the mound and showed a sound delivery and a low 3/4's release point on an 80 mph fastball that had nice running action. His breaking ball was a sweeping 70 mph slider that had some depth to it. Bryant threw strikes and was competitive on the mound. He is an excellent student.
