Mike O'Neill is a 2006 outfielder from Riverside California with a medium, athletic build at 5 ft. 11 165 pounds. He hits from a balanced stance with quiet hands and shows some upper body strength. He has a long swing plane with bat speed. He is a contact style hitter and uses the whole field. He looked more comfortable with the wood bat during the games than in BP. He is athletic and he ran a 7.26 in the 60. O'Neill is a good defensive outfielder with good instincts. He has a smooth arm action that produced 77 mph velocity from the outfield. He gets a good read off the bat and showed very good range. He has lots of room to grow and could be a high level prospect in 2006. Mike is a very good student.

Mike is a 2006 grad from Riverside, California. He's a left handed hitting outfielder with very good first step quickness and solid overall speed. Mike showed us that he can cover a lot of ground in centerfield and is especially good at tracking balls over his head. His physical tools profile best as a top of the order hitter who gets on base and causes havoc. Mike's natural hitting style is tall with a narrow base and this causes him to lift the ball more than is ideal, but he showed a willingness to hit the ball to all fields and to lay down a bunt. His attitude on the field was great, Mike hustled every moment and we like his style. College programs really look for this kind of player to be a leadoff/centerfield type and they should be very interested in Mike. He is a good student as well.
