McKenna really opened our eyes with an exciting power/speed combination. We know he’s a hard worker because he’s gone from a slightly below average runner to a 6.64 runner during the last year and looks smooth and quick in his actions. McKenna has busy hands at the plate but very good wrist strength and a short swing. He showed some raw power in batting practice, then crushed a ball over the right fielder’s head against live pitching. McKenna’s arm strength is a bit above average on the Major League scale from the outfield and combined with his speed enables him to play any of the outfield positions. McKenna is a good student who has signed to attend Florida Atlantic. Michael has championship caliber makeup and some Big League tools. Anything is possible in the future.

McKenna is an "04" OF/2B with tools. At 6'0/175 he looks much bigger and stronger than you would think. In fact, he is very strong. He ran an outstanding 6.8 60 on the slow track in Wareham. This is evidence of his work ethic as Kevin used to run around 7 for us. He threw 87 mph from the outfield showing improved arm strength. We've always liked his bat and he didn't disapoint in Wareham. He can flat out hit. He has quick strong hands and creates good bat speed. He stays in balance start to finish and the ball jumps fast off the wood. He's a very good player and we've seen him look very good at 2B in the past. Michael is a good student too.

Michael is a solid infielder who is not flashy but gets it done. He runs about MLB average and has good instincts on the bases. His actions are good in the infield and he can make all the plays. He has a strong arm and he can hit. His bat might be his top tool. The ball jumps off his wood bat in a hurry and it wouldn't surprise us to see him hitting lots of home runs in college ball. Good solid all around player for 04.

Real good player "04" 2B with a nice strong body. Nice fielding actions. Good arm strength and nice hands. Runs well and can hit the ball hard. Has a slight tendency to pull off the ball. Plays for keeps. He has a chance to play at a high level.

McKenna is a junior middle infielder that showed good ability with both his glove and his bat. He has outstanding baseball skills and athletic ability. As a fielder he projects best as a 2B at the highest levels. He showed that he has range and he can make the double play ball look easy. He has good instincts and actions at both middle infield positions and showed good traits in just about every aspect defensively. He sets up well and shows good life and bounce in his body. He showed some athleticism in his approach to the ball by getting around it and staying down low on it throughout the play. He moved his feet quickly and used his legs well on his throws to 1B, which were clocked at 80 mph across the diamond. He also showed good coordination coming in on the slow roller and showed us a good backhand. There is a lot that he can do and his defensive game will be an asset wherever he plays. From a hitting standpoint, McKenna does not hold back as he showed good bat speed, a strong swing and a good looking swing plane, with wood. He gets a good hip turn and pivot on the back foot. He also showed us quick hands and he swings to the ball in a good short, effective manner. We saw him smoke a few of them with some power in the gap. We imagine that he has some serious home run power with aluminum. The ball really jumps off his bat. His body is strong with muscular legs but not so much as to diminish his running ability. He ran a 6.98 for us on the laser. He gets a good jump, runs efficiently and showed strong strides all the way through the finish. He is capable of running even better times. We like the future of McKenna and think there is going to be a lot of interest from Division 1 Colleges this spring. He’s a very good baseball player! Definitely one of the best this weekend in Indy!
