Rood is a 5-8, 160 lb catcher from Florida with a compact body. He ran the 60 in 7.37 on the slow track and threw 72 mph during workouts with a best pop time of 2.08. Rood hits from a wide stance with limited load. He looks to hit the ball to the right side of the field and showed good plate coverage during the games. Rood does a good job of making contact. As he gains strength he will start driving the ball. Good athlete, good student.
