Derek Vail is a 2012 RHP with a 6-2 160 lb. frame from Gainesville, FL who attends Buchholz HS. Tall lean build, long and loose, body projects to fill out well. Low 3/4 arm slot, nice and easy arm action, velocity projects, sinking action on fastball, low effort delivery, repeats well, downhill plane, has a nice feel for his off-speed stuff, solid 10-4 curveball, good life on changeup, fields position well. Outstanding student.
