Ryan Owens is a 2012 RHP with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Boca Raton, FL who attends West Boca Raton HS. Tall well proportioned pitcher's build. Slow deliberate delivery, long extended arm circle, high 3/4's arm slot, repeats mechanics well. Fastball to 85 mph, have seen consistently up to 88 over the past year, good run and sink, will pitch inside with fastball and throw to spots. Big breaking curveball, has depth but could improve power and bite, needs to develop change up. Plus command type, has mound presence and attacks hitters, fields his position well. Developing change up is key. Good student, signed with Winthrop.
