Matt Sapp is a 6' 165 pound 2007 middle infielder and outfielder from Clemmons, North Carolina who attends West Forsyth High School. He has a very good athletic body with good tone who has room to add some muscle. Matt showed his speed by running a 7.04 60. In the field, he used his speed and quickness to make many plays look easy. He has good athletic actions with good footwork and soft hands. He showed good arm strength by throwing 75 mph across the infield. Sapp is a right handed hitter who has a good fundamental swing. He hits with a wide stance and has good balance and a short path to the ball. He has college level bat speed and good hand strength that gives him very good pull power. Overall, he has a good all around approach at the plate. Matt performs well on offense and defense and should be kept an eye on. He could end up being the sleeper of the event.
