Mark Fleury is a 2006 C/OF from Pope High School in Roswell, Georgia, with a 6'1'', 190 lb. frame. Fleury has a presently strong body with good leg strength. He has quick hands behind the plate with a quick transfer and release that helps produce pop times under 1.90, with a best of 1.84. Fleury also has smooth footwork on his throws and blocking balls in the dirt. He is a plus defensive catcher who works hard behind the plate. At the plate he hits from the left side with a straight away stance and slight crouch. Fleury has a very quiet approach and shows a smooth left handed swing. He has very good bat speed and a slight loft swing. He has great balance throughout his swing and gets great leverage at the point of contact which helps produce raw power with strength in his swing. Fleury stays in against left handed pitchers well and uses his hands well. A left handed hitting catcher who can hit with power and is great defensively is very rare. Fleury has a great future.

Mark Fluery is a 2006 catcher/outfielder from Roswell, GA with a strong muscular build at 6-1, 190 lbs. He's come on over the last few months to establish himself as one of the better catching prospects in the 2006 class. Fluery is a very good athlete for a catcher, with nice quickness and mobility. His hustling style of play on the field makes him seem even faster. Fluery has a cannon arm and quick release. At the plate, Fluery is an aggressive hitter who is looking to attack the ball early in the count. He has very good bat speed and makes consistent line drive contact. He was all over the ball in Atlanta and really stood out at the plate. The way he's coming on, we may look back in a few years and wonder why Fluery wasn't ranked higher, he can really play and has top level tools on both sides of the ball.
