WP - Marcus Valenzuela is a 2006 OF/1B from Monarch HS in Colorado. Marcus has a medium frame with a lean, and lively body. He showed good athletic actions and a solid throwing arm that should be able to play at all outfield positions. Marcus had a solid approach and swing from both sides of the plate. He has a slight lift in his swing and shows good gap to gap power. The ball jumped off the bat with wood and he could be a threat offensively in the future with increased strength and maturity. He's a switch hitter who looks very comfortable on a baseball field. He's going to hit! He has a chance to play and produce at a very high level.
