Lucas Momo is a 2006 outfielder/first baseman from Trinity School in New York, New York, with a strong 5'11"/180 pound frame. Lucas is a switch hitter with a no stride approach from the left side. He has leverage and strength in his swing with very good bat speed as a line drive hitter. From the right side, he has a small stride with strength in his swing and good power potential. Momo has good arm speed from the outfield with good carry at 82 mph. He runs well as he ran a 6.93-60 yard in workouts. Momo is an excellent student.

Momo is a switch hitting junior outfielder from New York with a strong, mature body and very good athletic skills. He’s the type of athlete who you could put at tailback on a football field and he’d look at home. Momo ran a 6.82 60 and looked like he had the type of aggressive approach on the bases that will result in a ton of stolen bases. He also showed a very strong and accurate arm both in drills and in games. Momo isn’t a natural right now with a bat in his hands, though. He hits from a wide, squatty stance with no weight shift and no extension to the ball. He generates some raw bat speed on strength alone but there’s no projection with his using his current approach. What Momo really needs is a complete makeover at the plate. We usually don’t take this step when evaluating a player off a couple of days but Momo is such a good looking athlete that he can become a very nice player at the college level if he can make some adjustments. Momo is a good student, too.
