Cole Prater is a 2010 C/RHP with a 6'3'', 195 lb. frame from Birmingham, AL who attends Oak Mountain HS. Strong athletic frame. Very good arm strength, accurate throws, slow release, needs fundamental work receiving. Open stance, quiet load, smooth swing, stays inside ball well, had some good game swings, best contact to the opposite field, has the tools to get better. Also pitched, FB 78-79, cross body release, around the plate. Good student.

Cole Prater is a 2010 C/P with a 6'2'', 180 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends North Scott HS. He has a big frame for his age and above average present strength. Prater has very good bat speed and power for his age. He hits with low hands to start his swing and has a lift/pull approach to the ball. The ball comes off his bat hard on contact and he hit a couple of balls out of the park in batting practice. His game swing is long and he'll have to make some adjustments as the pitching improves but the tools are there to hit. Defensively, Prater has very good arm strength and threw 76 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.15. His catching skills and fundamentals are very raw at this point and he'll have to work hard to grow at the position. Prater also pitches and threw 76-78 mph from a long, slinging mid 3/4's release point. He gets extremely large running action on his fastball that is pretty impressive. Prater has the raw arm strength to keep developing as a pitcher as well. He is also a good student.
