Kyle Engebrecht is a 2006 1B/3B/C from Victor HS in Victor, NY, with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame. He has a strong durable build that can get stronger with work. Engebrecht ran the 60 in 7.91 and threw 71 mph during infield drills. He showed good actions around the first base bag and soft hands receiving throws. Engebrecht is a switch hitter who shows more polish and better balance from the left side. He hits from a deep load and drift to the ball with his hips. His swing has some loft to it and he shows gap to gap power potential on contact. His bat speed will improve even more as he adds additional strength. Engebrecht is also a good student.

Engebrecht is 6-2, 190 lb senior first baseman from New York with very good size and strength. He also plays some third base but profiles best at first base. He sets up at the plate with high hands and lots of excess body motion and never really gets set before starting his swing, which creates timing issues. Engebrecht has some raw bat speed and power potential that's untapped right now and should improve with a quieter approach at the plate. He's a 7.95 runner who threw 71 mph from first base in infield drills. Engebrecht is also a very solid student.

Engebrecht is a tall and strong 6-2 switch hitting first baseman from New York. He has lots of hand and body movement getting set up for his swing that affects his overall balance and timing. Engebrecht calmed down his game approach a bit from BP and made solid contact on a couple of hits. He has the physical strength to improve as a hitter with some adjustments and good instruction. Engebrecht was smooth defensively around first base and showed a sure glove on low throws. Our coaching staff also remarked on what a great attitude Engebrecht had on the field and on the bench. He's a sleeper, keep an eye on his development. He is a solid student, too.

Kyle Engebrecht is a good sized 2006 first baseman/third baseman from Victor, New York. He showed excellent feet and hands during infield with a very fundamentally sound set up. His arm strength was solid, and we feel he has the actions to be a very good second baseman in the future. At the plate, Engebrecht hit out of an even stance from both sides of the plate. He showed better power from the left side, with good extension and smooth swing. We look forward to seeing Engebrecht at future events, and he has the potential to be a solid player in the next two years.
