Kyle Drabek was one of the top players at the South Underclass showcase. He is a Right-hander that just finished his Freshman season. He showed ability matching some of the top seniors in Texas. He threw an 85-88 mph fastball with late life that jumped out of his hand easy and fast. He showed a good 68-70 mph curve with a tight spin and another harder off-speed breaking ball more indicative of a slider n the 73-74 mph range. He has a fast arm and maintained that arm-speed with his change-up which came in around 70-71 mph making it his 4th pitch in the fringe Major League category. He is a special player with good bloodlines and can also play SS with a potent bat. He showed an aggressive swing with bat-speed and produced sharp line drives. He is a hard-nosed player with a huge upside as just a 2006 grad. Keep a close eye on this kid, could end up being one of the best in "06".
