2004 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Kyle Brown is a 6'1" senior infielder from Missouri who was easily the top middle infielder at the Midwest Showcase. He showed solid college level tools both offensively and defensively, and we didn’t see a strong weakness in his overall game. Offensively, Brown hits from a tall stance with a toe tap stride and push hand and upper body action. He takes an aggressive pull oriented cut and generates very good bat speed, using his leverage well. He attacked fastballs with purpose. Brown had four solid hits during the two games and the ball was jumping off his bat. He projects power in the future. Defensively, Brown showed smooth actions moving through the ball and nice balance and body control. Nothing was forced or hurried, but his release and footwork were quick and efficient. His arm strength is solid for the next level. Brown should be a solid DI player in the near future.
