Hildreth is a good sized young man at 6-5, 220, with extra big feet and an intimidating presence on the mound. He throws from a high ¾’s release point and is a bit of a back archer in his delivery. Hildreth’s arm works well and generates good velocity on his fastball, from 85-88 mph in Lincoln. It’s not hard to imagine him throwing harder given his size and strength. Hildreth’s 72 mph curveball had good downer 12 to 6 spin on it, as you would expect from his release point. His change up had effective running action on it at 77 mph. Justin is a very interesting pitching prospect who is also a major college foorball prospect. He's a very good student.

Justin has a big strong RHP who also showed some power at the plate. His size makes him very interesting as a pitcher. His fastball topped at 85 but he seemed a bit tired and we know he has thrown much better.. He showed a sharp hard breaking ball at 73 mph. He is a power pitcher who goes after the hitters. He showed a good splitter at times. We think it wont be long until he is consistently high 80's or low 90s. Very interesting prospect, could be a big sleeper by next June. Also a very good football prospect and a good student.

Hildreth is a real big, strong RHP/3B and he's only an "04". He shows some hitting and obvious power potential. He does need to improve his hitting mechanics to make better use of his strength. The most interesting thing about Hildreth is his arm. He showed mid 80s velocity and the ability to spin the curveball. He also showed a decent changeup around 72-73 mph. He appears to be getting used to his size and as he gains more coordination in his delivery he should throw real hard. The 90s are a possibility down the road. He has a lot of size and strength to work with. It will be interesting to see how he develops over the next year.
