Andrew Thompson is a 2007 1B/3B from Killian HS in Miami, FL with a 5'11", 193 lb. frame. Andrew has a strong athletic build and swung the bat very well in batting practice. At the plate he shows very good strength and bat speed in his swing which allows him to consistently drive the ball all over the field. He has a consistent swing and had one of the best BP's at the showcase. In the field Andrew has clean actions with a solid arm. He can be a little slow getting rid of the ball and might be a better fit at first base. With his ability to swing the bat and strong classroom performance, Andrew looks to be a solid Division I prospect.

Andrew Thompson is a 2007 3B/1B/OF with a 5'11'', 194 lb. frame from Miami FL, who attends Killian HS. He has a strong build with good present strength and physical maturity. Thompson has plenty of strength to create bat speed. He hits from an open stance with a big hand hitch and bat wrap in back. When Thompson gets the bat head into the hitting zone he squares up on it well and drives it, but he's going to be late on better quality stuff. Defensively, Thompson shows good balance and quick feet. He had nice range during the games and threw better in game action than during drills. He shows the ability to stay at third base at the next level. Thompson is a good student.
