Faglie is a big right-handed first baseman who got a couple hits by staying on the ball and not committing too early. He is a big body that packs some punch but lacks the bat-speed right now to show home run power with wood. If he keeps a good hitting approach and uses the entire field like we think he is capable he will hit for average. He even took the mound and showed low to mid 80's velocity and a nice curveball, though at times was not thrown as hard as he was capable of. He has a better arm than he showed in the workout and some pitchability. If we are not mistaken, he appeared to throw another off-speed pitch with knuckleball action that came in around 60-61 mph. If he gets all 3 pitches working he will have a good assortment to choose from. Good student.
