Chevalier is a 5-11, 160 lb middle infielder from Colorado. He has very quick feet, especially on defense, and good baseball speed. Chevalier had a very good showcase on defense. He has very good range and gets to lots of balls. His arm strength is still developing but he has a quick release and moves through the ball well. He turned some double plays at shortstop that really highlighted his defensive skills. Offensively, Chevalier hits from a no stride approach with his weight forward. He does a good job of keeping his swing short and compact and makes consistent contact to all fields. He should improve his bat speed with more physical strength and start taking more advantage of his bat head skills. Until then, his glove will make him a valuable player. Chevalier is a very good student.

Chevalier is a 5-10 junior middle infielder from Colorado. He has a lean, athletic body with good strength in his hands and arms. Chevalier listed himself as a primary third baseman but we see no reason physically why he can’t play anywhere in the infield and do a good job. He has college level arm strength with a quick transfer and release and showed the ability to throw from different arm angles well. Chevalier is a 7.13 runner with quick feet and has nice range going after ground balls. At the plate, Chevalier hits from a spread, no stride stance with some back side collapse and lift in his swing. He showed his hand strength and the ball jumped off his bat well. Chevalier showed a very patient approach in the showcase games and waited for strikes he could handle and ended up with a couple of hits. Chevalier is also a very good student.
