2004 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Josh is a 2006 grad from Fountain Valley High School in Southern California. He stands 6'3" 190 lbs with a large frame and strong overall build. Josh has a good proportioned body thru out. On the mound, Josh has an easy, fluid delivery with good looseness out front and a good feel for the strike zone with all his pitches. His fastball topped out at 80 mph and his 64-67 mph curveball had quality downer depth to it at times. Josh has a good feel for his change up as well and will often use it to go after hitters late in counts to finish them off. Right now Josh is a finesse right hander with good feel and command but his youth, looseness and size lead you to believe that he's going to pick up velocity in the future. He's a good student who should be able to keep improving on the baseball field and contribute large at the ollege level. Very good 06 and good student.
