Joseph Alexander is a 2006 RHP/1B from Roane County HS in Kingston, TN, with a 6'1'', 185 lb. frame. Alexander has a good pitcher's frame with present strength. He has a short arm circle on the backside with a quick and deceptive delivery to the plate. His fastball topped out at 74 mph with slight arm side life and sink. Alexander's curveball has an 11 to 5 break, and he consistently throws the pitch for strikes. He also hits the corners with his fastball and shows above average control. Defensively he picks the ball well at first base with solid footwork around the bag. Alexander hits from the right side with a low hand set and keeps his hands close to his body. Currently he is a line drive hitter with gap power. When he learns to consistently keep his weight back, he will hit with more usable power. Alexander is an excellent student as well.
