OF Jordan Burrows: Burrows is a junior outfielder from Iowa who we’ve seen play a ton in the Spring League and at the Spring Showcase. He has a nice, live athletic body that can add some strength in the future and shows signs of having Major League running speed, too. Burrows will show you his physical tools in games sometimes and at other times he’ll play out of control and not use his natural ability. Burrows hits from a tall stance with low hands and a hitch. He’ll hit inside fastballs on the lower half hard and had a couple of nice hits in the Showcase games. Burrows is an aggressive base runner, sometimes to a fault and plays the outfield with the same style. He has a chance to be a very good college player.

Burrows is a good-bodied sophomore outfielder with speed. At 6 feet tall and 168 pound he has body control and a good upside. In the 60 he was timed at 6.84 and that plays very well tracking down fly balls. He showed good paths to the ball and natural athleticism. He threw 77 mph from the outfield with a good fielding posture and his approach is near flawless. Hitting is not his overall strength but he has some bat-speed with wood already. His hands start out high, possibly higher than would benefit his swing and he stung a couple balls that got into the outfield quickly. His most helpful adjustment from what we saw would be to stride forward and avoid pulling too far off the ball. He is young and has 2 years of development ahead of him. He is one to watch from here on out.
