Andrew Moore is a 2007 right hand hitting outfielder from Bellaire HS, residing in Houston, TX. Moore has a rangy, lean build on a strong 6'2" 180 lb. frame that still has plenty of room to fill out. He is still a work in progress as a player but he was very interesting to watch and consider the type of player he can become. Moore has a pretty steep swing plane and the ball spins well off his bat. That type of plane and resulting spin creates carry and as he continues to get stronger, he is going to hit some home runs that will not look like dingers off the bat. Moore has good bat speed and some life in that swing. He maintained balance during his swing too. Very interesting to consider the developing power in that stroke, he should be followed closely. In the outfield Moore possesses average outfield tools. He is likely best in left field, where his 7.20 speed and average arm fit best. He was putting some effort in his throws, causing the ball to cut a bit out of his his hand, which also suggests that left field is the best spot for him. Regardless of the defensive side, Moore's future opportunities are tied to what he does with the bat and he has a chance to develop into a corner outfielder with some power. He ran 4.69 home/1st in addition to that 7.20 60 yard time. Moore is D1 caliber prospect but still a bit of a project that should be given some more development time.

Andrew Moore is a 2007 OF/P with a 6'2'', 180 lb. frame from Houston TX, who attends Bellaire. Andrew has a projectable lean athletic body. Andrew has arm strength from the outfield with carry on his throws. He moves around well in the outfield and is a sure glove in the outfield. Andrew has a narrow stance and starts upright at the plate. He has good balance in his swing and with lift. Andrew has good power and good bat speed. Andrew likes to pull the ball and also has good hand strength in his swing. He has a good idea of how to hit and has a sound aggressive swing. Andrew pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action. He as a good feel for his off speed pitches and throws them for strikes. Andrew has armside run on his fastball and has tight break on his breaking pitches. Andrew is a solid prospect and is an outstanding student.

Moore is a 6-2, 180 lb junior outfielder from Houston with a projectable and athletic body. He ran the 60 in 7.55 and threw 77 mph during outfield drills. Moore's best tools are with the bat. He has a good load and rhythm at the plate and good present strength in his hands. He has nice bat speed and likes to turn on the ball and pull it with authority. Moore has long levers that he uses well to swing the bat and he could really develop some over the fence power as he fills out and gets stronger. He showed us flashes of his power, especially in the Prospect Game when he bolted a double over the left fielder's head. There's no reason that Moore shouldn't keep getting better at the plate and potentially become a middle of the order run producer. Moore also pitched a couple of innings topping out at 77 mph on his fastball with a 60 mph curveball. Named to the Top Prospect Game. Good follow.
