Jonathan Quintero is a 2005 middle infielder and pitcher from Miami, FL. He has above average footwork that would allow him to play both middle infield positions, but would profile better as a quick handed second baseman. At the plate Quintero is an aggressive hitter with good bat speed that produces consistent contact, including a sharp base hit down the left field line in one of the Showcase games. Quintero also pitched in Ft. Myers and threw a 74 mph fastball from a 3/4 arm slot with some arm side run and showed good control on both sides of the plate. He also threw an 11/5 curveball at 66 mph, and a 68 mph change up. He's very good defensively and really knows how to pitch. Jonathan is an excellent student.

Jonathan Quintero -- Quintero is a lean and wiry junior infielder from Miami. He has a smooth, polished approach to the game that looks like it’s a result of lots of repetitions and good fundamental coaching. Quintero hits from a balanced stance with a backside approach that focuses on hitting balls hard up the middle and to right field. That’s exactly what he did during batting practice and games, too, hit a lot of balls hard with a short, compact stroke. Quintero’s hands and feet work well together on defense and he showed good arm strength from second base. The biggest challenge to this young player will be to increase his speed and quickness. Quintero is a very good student and he can really hit..

05 who is fairly small and needs to gain strength for his tools to develop fully. Excellent hands, nice glove and aggressive at the plate. Good looking swing someone has taught him well. Be interesting to see him in a couple of years. He's interesting!
