John Watlington is a 5'10", 170 lb. middle infield/third baseman from Yanceyville, North Carolina, with good present strength. John has good feet and uses them well with 76 mph velocity on throws. He has a very good, polished fielding technique and good clean transfers. John is a right handed hitter with a knee lift trigger, an open to closed approach, and some bat speed. He has a pull approach with above average hand strength. John was a little anxious in Chapel Hill and got out early on some pitches. His strong defensive fundamentals and raw bat speed will enable him to be a solid player at the next level.
