Lee is a projectable athlete with a lively 6-0, 170 frame. He is a solid big league average runner with a nice running gait and good first step quickness. Lee also showed us good baseball instincts both offensively and defensively. What he needs to do over the next couple of years is add some strength to go with his quickness. Lee also got our "Red Cross" award at the World Showcase. Facing a left handed pitcher (Lee hits left handed), Lee got hit by 2 pitches, took another fastball off the knob of the bat while bailing out, then fouled a ball off his foot. We didn’t hold the eventual strikeout against him, we just tipped our caps that he got back into the batter’s box and took another hack. John is an excellent student with a chance to play at a very high level. He's only a junior.

Lee is an "05" OF/LHP from Iowa. At 6'0/175 he has an athletic lean body. He runs fairly well, plays very well in the OF and shows some arm strength. His throws from the outfield showed lots of natural sinking action limiting the amount of carry. At the plate he shows excellent bat speed and potential. He needs to stay on the ball a bit longer. He is going to be quite a LH hitter. John is a 4.0 student.
