Anthony Fountas is a 5-8, 170 lb senior left handed pitcher from Illinois with mature features. He's an aggressive, emotional pitcher who enjoys himself on the mound and enjoys competing. Fountas has a long arm arch with a full turn your back hip turn in his delivery. His 77-79 mph fastball had big, early running action that sometimes made it difficult for Fountas to spot the ball effectively. His 70 mph curveball also has an early break but it has a big downer tilt to it that makes it an effective pitch. Fountas also threw a couple of 72 mph change ups. He'll drop down to low 3/4's to side arm on left handed hitters, especially with his off speed pitches. Fountas has an idea of how to pitch and likes mixing up his pitches and keeping the hitter's off balance. He can be effective and get quick outs when he's hitting his spots. Fountas is also an excellent student.

Anthony Fountas is a 2006 LHP/IF from Burr Ridge, Illinois, with a 5'8", 170 lb. frame. Fountas throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm arch on the backside. He has a slight hip turn in his delivery at the balance point, and has a fast paced delivery. His fastball topped out at 80 mph with good sinking action. It also looked like he threw a cutter with more run in on the right handed hitters. Fountas has sharpness to his curveball at 68 mph, and also threw a change up at 71 mph with very good movement. He gets good movement on all of his pitches and makes him hard to hit . His control wasn't there at the beginning, but he settled down very well and found the strike zone. Fountas doesn't have great fastball velocity, but he has the secondary pitches and life on his fastball to get hitters out. Fountas also took a few swings at the event. He has a wide stance with a toe tap trigger, and there is strength in his swing with solid bat speed. He is also a good student.
