Jerry Slutzky -- Slutzky is a thick bodied junior catcher from Georgia with very good strength in his hands and arms. He showed us polished and mature receiving skills behind the plate with playable arm strength and a quick release that registered consistent sub 2.00 pop times. Pitchers probably like throwing to this young prospect. Slutzky hits from a balanced short stride approach and uses his hands well in his swing. He hit some balls hard against live pitching and demonstrated some gap power and would have even more power if he got his strong hips involved in his swing earlier and more aggressively. Slutzky is a good student, also. He can play at a very high level.
