Dunlap is a 5-10 left handed hitting outfielder from Wisconsin who enjoyed a very strong showcase. He’ll definitely go on the 2006 rankings for his state. Dunlap has deceptive strength for his size and uses it very well in his swing. He has an open approach with good coil and load and stays back on the ball very well. One of the PG scouts said he had a Thome-like approach. Dunlap is quick to the ball and showed loft power in batting practice and made solid game contact. If he continues to develop his upper body strength, Dunlap could develop into a very nice hitter. Defensively, Dunlap doesn’t have blazing pure speed (7.28) but gets excellent jumps off the bat and ran down some balls that we didn’t think he had a chance to get. We should see plenty of Dunlap up in the Iowa/Wisconsin leagues and events and look forward to watching him develop. Dunlap is also a good student.

Jeffrey Dunlap is a 2006 outfielder/catcher from Waukesha Wisconsin with a thick strong build at 5 ft. 10 180 pounds. shows good core strength, short compact stroke, quick hands to the ball, nice lofted swing plane, shows very good power potential, quick reactions, gets a good read off the bat, deceptive speed, plus range, high level prospect

OF Jeff Dunlap: Dunlap is a sophomore outfielder from Wisconsin who has some real potential with the bat as he grows older. He generates nice bat speed from the left side of the plate with an aggressive, pull oriented swing and the ball jumps off his bat well. Dunlap’s definitely going to hit his share of home runs in the future. How high he plays is going to depend on how hard he works at controlling and developing his body. Dunlap’s a bit heavy in the hips and mid-section right now and his peripheral tools are merely playable. If he’s serious about his diet and conditioning, Dunlap could be a middle of the order hitter at the next level and be a good corner outfielder. If not, he’ll be a very good high school hitter.
