Good mechanics on mound, gets good downward angle, balls jumps out of hand, quick arm - smooth arm action, good presence, lots of strikes, 12-6 CB tight spin, CH shows fade, throws easy, good presence on mound. Moves well in outfield, quick to ball, can cover ground. Athletic in batter's box, straigth stance, gap to gap, balanced swing, has bat speed, gets extension.

Gavin Hite is a 2009 RHP/OF with a 5'11'', 172 lb. frame from Auburn, WA who attends Bellarmine Prep. Hite has a medium sized frame with an athletic build. Hite pitches from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He throws with a 2-piece arm action and he has arm strength. Hite uses drop and drive style mechanics and really gets good use out of his legs. He challenges hitters in the strike zone and is an aggressive pitcher. Hite throws a 12/6 curveball with good spin and break. His curveball is his best pitch and it is a strikeout pitch. He is around the plate with 3 pitches and pounds the zone. Hite gets armside run on his fastball and has good upside. He pushes his change up a bit but it is a developing pitch. At the plate, Hite starts his swing with a knee lift trigger and has some present strength. He is an aggressive baserunner and gets great reads in the dirt.
