Jeff Hughes is a 2005 middle infielder from Modesto, California, with a good frame and lean build with room for more strength in the future. He has a projectable body. His mobility may put him at third base in the future, but his bat can play there. Hughes has good hands, and an accurate arm to play shortstop at his present level. At the plate, he shows a slight weight transfer, and a short swing to make consistent contact. He is a solid player who plays hard, and shows you his versatility by playing other positions. Jeff is a good student.
