Jacob Hickman is a 2006 first baseman/left handed pitcher from Houston, TX, with a thick, mature body at 6-2, 230 lbs. defensively, he has sure hands and he showed agility around the bag. His arm strength is playable for a first baseman with a max effort type release. He hits from a square, strong stance with a short compact swing. He has lots of upper body strength and he generates good bat speed through the zone. His swing plane has slight loft to it and shows home run power to the pull side. His fastball topped at 80 mph from a low ¾ arm slot. He also showed a big breaking curve ball at 61 mph. He is a strong-bodied player that shows power potential with the bat and he will be a top level prospect for 2006.

Jacob Hickman is a 2006 first baseman from Houston, Texas. He is thick bodied at 6'2", 220 lb. with some power potential. He has a big hand hitch in his swing which will keep him from catching up to good stuff, but Hickman takes a full, aggressive cut and can hit the ball a long way on his pitch. We imagine he can do some damage with a metal bat against mid level high school pitching. Hickman also pitched a couple of innings and threw 80 mph with a decent 63 mph change up that he had lots of confidence in.
