2007 Southeast Underclass Showcase
Dylan Kelly is a 2010 C/OF with a 5'11'', 160 lb. frame from Roswell, GA who attends Centennial HS. He has a slender, young athletic build. Kelly played both catcher and outfield at the showcase. He threw 71 mph during catching drills with a best pop time of 2.07. His arm strength was solid for his age and he showed athletic actions but his skills and footwork were raw. We got the same impression from his work in the outfield. On offense, Kelly hits from an open stance with a wide base and lots of back side collapse that makes his swing long. He has some hand quickness but his approach leaves him weak at the ball. Kelly has some tools and is young but needs plenty of work with his skills and fundamentals to make the most of them. He is a good student.
