J.C. Perez is a 6'0", 190 lb. 2005 outfielder from Miami. with good present strength. He hits from an open stance with a limited load and stride. Perez shows good hand strength and some good bat speed, but his current approach hurts his ability to extend to the ball and cover the outside half of the plate. Every once in a while Perez would get his arms extended through the ball and would look good doing it. There’s a sleeper of a hitter here if he can adjust his approach to use his natural tools. Perez’s best defensive tool is his arm strength. He threw 85 mph from the outfield with a quick, short arm stroke. Perez runs well underway and should cover enough ground in the outfield to be more than playable at the next level. JC is a good student.
