2007 Southeast Underclass Showcase
Gerry O'Meara is a 2009 1B/3B with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends The Lovett School. He has a lean frame with a some wiry present strength. O'Meara was an agile defender around the first base bag and showed good footwork and quick actions, along with some arm strength. He could likely play other positions as well. He was a 7.30 runner in the 60. O'Meara hits out of a tall right handed stance and has an aggressive, hard swing that has nice bat speed. The ball jumps pretty good on contact and he shows some gap to gap power. O'Meara's best contact was when he got his hands extended and was able to pull pitches. He tended to loop his hands under balls on the outside half and get long. O'Meara has some nice hitting tools and his approach is good. He is a good student.
