Avi Ahlzadeh is a 2009 C/3B/OF with a 6'0'', 188 lb. frame from Dunwoody, GA who attends Dunwoody HS. He has a good frame with strength throughout. Ahlzadeh threw 1.98 during catching drills and showed very good arm strength at 78 mph with a long arm stroke and release. He has nice quickness for his size and shifts well behind the plate. Offensively, Ahlzadeh hits from an open stance with very low hands in his set up. He has a short, quick swing with some lift and bat speed in it and hit some balls which carried pretty well. Ahlzadeh showed some power to the opposite field as well, which is nice to see in a young hitter. Ahlzadeh's strength serves him well as a hitter as long as he can keep his timing consistent. Ahlzadeh was a tough, scrappy player who played hard. He is a good student.
