LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2007 Southeast Underclass Showcase
Dalton Edwards is a 2010 RHP/OF/2B with a 5'10'', 140 lb. frame from Auburn, AL who attends Auburn HS. He has a very thin, lanky build that doesn't look like it's started to add strength yet. Edwards listed himself as a primary pitcher prior to the showcase but only played outfield at the event. Edwards is a left handed hitter who has a very nice swing for his age and surprising bat speed for his strength. He has a short, compact swing with quick hand action and squares up on the ball well. He was able to shoot the ball hard up the right centerfield gap in batting practice and kept the same approach during games. He should continue to develop well as a hitter as he gets stronger. Edwards handled himself well in the outfield, showing good fundamentals and a long, slinging arm action. He's a 7.66 runner in the 60. Edwards had some developing arm strength in the outfield but it looks to us that he's more likely a position prospect because of his left handed bat.
