2007 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Trey Hendrick is a 2009 OF with a 6'0'', 165 lb. frame from Nashville, TN who attends Christ Presbyterian Academy. He has a live, athletic body with some present strength and the promise of more. Hendrick ran the 60 in 7.08 and his game speed looked faster than that. He was one of the top defensive players at the showcase and really stood out in centerfield. He gets very good jumps on balls and made some nice game catches, especially going back on the ball to show his range. He also threw 85 mph in drills with good carry. Hendrick showed his speed and approach offensively, bunting and running a 4.02. His overall offensive game is his weakness right now. He hits with low and tight hands and does not have good balance at the plate. Hendrick has some hand strength but never puts himself in the position to hit the ball. Balance and hand position are the key, it looks like he has the strength to swing the bat. Hendrick is an excellent student off the field. He was named to the Showcase Top Prospect Team.
