Cody Scruggs is a 2008 1B/P with a 6'1'', 210 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Tomball. Cody has a large thick frame with present strength. He showed defensive instincts on first base and sccops and receives the ball well. He drops down a little on his throws, but is accurate with a top gun rating across the infield on 72 mph. At the plate he flashes some pop and makes solid contact, despite getting a little long at times. He really looks to drive the ball, and has the ability to do so when he doesn't try to do too much. On the mound he is a little stiff with his delivery, and throws out of a 3/4 arm slot with low effort. He has a good presence on the hill, showing solid command. He works quickly and wants to get ahead early. Cody is a very good student.
