Gavin is a 2006 grad from Rancho Buena Vista High School in the San Diego area. He stands 6'2" 190 lbs with a strong durable frame. We saw Gavin pitch in the WWBA World Championship and he was incredible, striking out 14 in 5 innings against top level competition. He didn't quite throw as hard at the West Coast Top Prospect (88-90 mph) but had the same type of very mature and polished mound presence that results in overmatching hitters. Gavin threw both a curveball and slider and both pitches are weapons. We have Gavin ranked as the top 2006 LHP in the country right now and he shows all the signs of being able to get even better. Gavin is also an outstanding student if he ends up taking the college route. Scouting Directors already know his name.
